Ben Tre Green Skin Pomelo Cooperative Commits to Eco-Friendly Packaging and is Recognized as a National Model

During the recent annual Provincial Advisory Board meeting, the Ben Tre Green Skin Pomelo Cooperative once again demonstrated its strong commitment to eliminating plastic bottles for its upcoming pure juice product line. This highly anticipated pure juice line will soon be launched alongside other innovative products, including candied pomelo peel, dried fruit, and pomelo nem (fermented pomelo peel).

Pioneering Plastic-Free Agricultural Products

The cooperative is thrilled to continuously receive highly positive feedback regarding these processed products. Most notably, the board praised the cooperative's proactive policy on plastic reduction, which strictly utilizes environmentally friendly materials such as glass bottles and paper bags.

Minimizing the use of plastic products and prioritizing eco-friendly packaging materials perfectly aligns with the core orientation that the Vietnam Cooperative Enterprise Development (VCED) Project has established for cooperatives over the years.

A Model Cooperative for Nationwide Replication

Cementing its position as a leader in sustainable agriculture, the Ben Tre Green Skin Pomelo Cooperative was once again profoundly honored by a high-level delegation. The delegation—comprising the two Co-Directors of the VCED Project, a representative from the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam, and provincial government authorities—officially recognized Ben Tre Green Skin Pomelo as a model cooperative.

The delegation emphasized that this exemplary model deserves special attention, investment, and favorable conditions to be replicated across the country, paving the way for a greener, more sustainable Vietnamese agricultural sector.
